Aviano Air Base Road Condition

Team Aviano weather reporting, delay and early release procedures are as follows.

Road Conditions: (For the Flightline (Area F) and locations adjacent to Area F only--the road conditions in other areas may vary)

Green: There are no indications of weather hazards that might affect your commute to and from work. There is no delay in reporting for duty.

Yellow: Weather conditions warrant the use of extra caution during your commute to and from work as well as driving on all Aviano base areas. Weather conditions indicating "yellow" may include fog, rain, smoke, etc.

Red: Weather has caused the driving conditions and roads to be either extremely hazardous or impassable. You should expect notification via official channels regarding late reporting, mission essential only reporting, or other modified duty reporting.

When weather conditions dictate a change in driving conditions, delayed reporting or school delays or closures, a notification will be sent by the Command Post to all wing, group and squadron commanders, directors, and school officials. Commanders and directors can direct a recall or direct delayed reporting at their discretion based on mission needs. Therefore, reporting instructions will vary depending on unit, job, and place of residence.

To find out the current driving conditions and to check the status of school delays or closures, the first option should be to access the Web from work or home. The current road condition is listed on the Aviano homepage at http://www.aviano.af.mil/. Alternatively, call the Aviano Straight Talk Line at DSN 632-3172 (or commercial 043430-3172) or tune to local AFN radio stations.
