Theater to hold late night movies

Aviano Air Base, Italy -- Beginning in March, the base theater will show late night movies at low prices.
Every Saturday at 10 p.m. the theater will show movies for $1.25. People who bring a prop or dress up akin to the movie's theme will receive further discounts at the concession stand.

"We're making it fun by giving people a chance to dress up for different movies," said Roland Knight, Army Air Force Exchange base theater manager. "We slashed the movie prices because these movies aren't brand new, but they were popular when they came out."

Jarhead is playing March 3 and people can bring anything military related to receive the concession discount. Jackass 2 will play March 10 and people can bring anything jokester related; The Amityville horror is playing March 17 and people are encouraged to dress up gory; and Final Destination 3 is playing March 24 and people can bring a bus, train or plane ticket stub.

The last movie in March is Coach Carter March 31. People can bring any high school jersey, cap or letterman jacket to receive the discount.

The base theater is working with the Aviano Airmen's Advisory Council for April's late night movies. The council is planning on activities such as barbecues and block parties in conjunction with the late night movies.

"We're trying to provide different choices for late night activities for Airmen," Mr. Knight said. "We're trying to show the community that we are here to support them and offer them alternative activities."
