31st Fighter Wing to hold National Prayer Breakfast

Aviano Air Base, Italy -- The base chapel is sponsoring the National Prayer Breakfast at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday in the La Bella Vista Club.

The guest speaker is Chaplain (Col.) Carl Andrews, U.S. Air Forces in Europe command chaplain.

"In addition to being a chaplain, [Chaplain Andrews] was a munitions officer in Vietnam," said Senior Airman Elizabeth Stewart, 31st Fighter Wing chaplain assistant. "His words are guaranteed to leave you inspired and filled with pride in serving in the World's Finest."

The National Prayer Breakfast is an annual event celebrated at Air Force bases. The cost is $3 for club members and $5 for non-members. People can purchase tickets through first sergeants or the base chapel. For more information, call Ext. 5211.

"[The breakfast] is an annual opportunity for our Aviano community to gather and celebrate the gifts of faith and prayer," Airman Stewart said. "People shouldn't come expecting a church atmosphere, but instead great food, wonderful military fellowship and uplifting words of wisdom and encouragement."
