AVIANO AIR BASE, Italy -- Aviano Air Base kicked off holiday celebrations with their Wyvern Wonderland holiday event at Aviano AB, December 2, 2022. The event was open to families of all ages and provided a host of activities and attractions to help families connect with each other and thrive during their time in Italy. Some events and attractions included numerous booths offering holiday merchandise and refreshments such as hot chocolate and cider, as well as attractions such as a skating rink and holiday train ride. The event closed with U.S. Air Force Brig. Gen. Tad Clark, 31st Fighter Wing commander, and Italian Air Force Lt. Col. Riccardo Isoli, operations chief, announcing the winners of the Aviano Holiday Card Competition and a tree lighting ceremony before welcoming special guest Santa Claus.
